KLM has signed a letter of intent for 15 Embraer E195E2 aircraft. Deliveries are due to take place between 2021 and 2023. The new aircraft will be flown by the airlines, KLM CityHopper arm alongside the airlines current fleet of 49 E175’s and E190’s. The E195E2 will be a significant increase in capacity over the airlines current fleet, and could potentially be used as a replacement for some of the Boeing 737-700 aircraft the airline operates.
The Brazilian Embraer company has had a relitively quiet airshow so far, with just a few aircraft ordered so far.
KLM has relied on the E175 and E190 to completely replace the fleet of its KLM Cityhopper brand in recent years after retiring the final Fokker F70 a few years back.
