Heathrow Airport To Reward Passengers Who Re-Use Their Liquid Bags

Heathrow Airport will reward those passengers who re-use their liquid bags when passing through security.

According to their website, each time you re-use your bag you will be awarded a green point. Once you have collected three green points, you will be entered into a prize draw. The prize is 5000 Heathrow Rewards points. This is the equivalent of £50.

In return, Heathrow Airport will donate 1p to their corporate charity partner, Care International for every green point earned.

The initiative is currently only available in Terminal 5 however.

As far as I can see, you claim your green points by scanning a QR code on a bag using your phone. You then input your Heathrow Rewards details.

As I haven’t been through Terminal 5 in the past couple of weeks, I can’t comment from personal experience. However I did notice that there were zero bags available when I passed through the BA First Wing last time out. I am due to pass through the terminal again in a few days however, so those that follow me on social media will likely get my experience then.

From a purely personal perspective, getting rewarded for using my liquids bag will be an advantage! Very rarely do I replace mine. I can usually get at least a years use from one and it’s a case of having to replace it because its worn out more than anything.

Except for that one time when passing through Terminal 3. Apparently, I didnt have a “Heathrow approved bag”, so had to ditch the one I’d picked up in wherever and use one of theirs…
