Introduction
As I had a fourteen hour layover between flights in Doha, rather than spend the entire time at the Airport hotel again, I figured I’d go for somewhere in town. The Doubletree came up at a reasonable price, and wasn’t too far from the airport.
Despite arriving at gone 1am, I was given a warm welcome, my status acknowledged and it was confirmed that I had been given an upgraded room.
Main Room
The room itself was of a great size, with high ceilings.
It featured a queen bed, a large sofa, armchair and a work desk.
Bathroom
The bathroom, again, was very large featuring a hot tub, shower, dual sinks and a toilet.
Amenities
Not your usual Hilton amenities in the bathroom – there were plenty of them though, including various soaps, lotions and mouthwash.
In the room there were tea and coffee making facilities, as well as two complimentary bottles of water.
In Conclusion
A seemingly new hotel in Doha around a fifteen minute drive from the airport. Everything was spotless, my status was acknowledged (not something that always happens) and I was upgraded to a great room. There was plenty of options for breakfast – probably one of the better hotel breakfasts I’ve had actually. The only minor complaint was that there dint appear to be an awful lot within walking distance of the hotel.
