British Airways Enhanced Catering Reaches London Gatwick

Rolling out today on all flights, the “re imagined” meals feature (depending on route and season):

Poached free-range egg, grilled halloumi, potato and red onion hash, spiced beans
Spinach and ricotta ravioli, cherry tomato sauce, bocconcini, basil pesto
Severn and Wye smoked salmon blinis, crème fraîche, keta caviar
Seared fillet of cod, lemon and chive linguine, tomato basil sauce
Club World
Starters
British cured Cumbrian ham, smoked aubergine purée, basil pesto
Roasted heirloom winter squash, goat’s curd, caramelised pear, honey and Tewkesbury mustard dressing
Main Courses
Seared fillet of cod, butter beans with saffron, crispy chorizo, smoked paprika
Ale-braised feather blade of British beef, chive mashed potatoes, horseradish dumplings, Chantenay carrots
Pan-friend Parmesan polenta, wild mushroom ragoût, wilted greens, savoury walnut granola

This is the latest development in continuously improving our catering. We’re incredibly proud of this new offering, and we hope our customers enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed developing it.
Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ Director of Brand and Customer Experience
Of interest, is that catering at Gatwick will be provided by Newrest. Flights at Heathrow are catered by Do&Co.
Whilst the press release mentions all long haul cabins will feature the new catering, there is a rather large caveat in it. Euro Traveller (short haul economy) passengers will still have to pay up to experience the M&S on board catering. Even on the 4+ hour sectors to Paphos.
In addition to the new catering, British Airways are in the process of refurbishing its fleet of Boeing 777 aircraft that fly out of Gatwick. These feature updated World Traveller and World Traveller Plus seats, along with updated in flight entertainment.
